Growing up in the Brockville community, Doug has a strong connection to the Leeds and Grenville area. As a kid, his family was a host family and he volunteered at BDACI, before becoming a support worker as a teenager. Doug's experience supporting people with developmental disabilities in Brockville over an 8 year period, combined with his Masters degree in Education led him to his current role at Loyalist College, as a professor in the Developmental Services Worker program. Doug is passionate about inclusive efforts that support people with developmental disabilities to hold valued social roles in their communities. Through both personal and professional experiences, he has gained an understanding of the positive impact that a stable home can have in a person's life.
