How It Works
Application Process
Community Involvement Legacy Homes takes an individualized, tenant-centred approach to home creation, from the beginning of the application process. Prospective tenants are supported through the following steps:
1. Letter
A prospective tenant sends a letter to the Board expressing their interest in a CILH home

3. Planning
When there are available resources, a prospective tenant is selected to begin the planning process

2. Waitlist
The Board reviews the application, and if all criteria are met, the prospective tenant is added to the waitlist

4. Home
The prospective tenant is supported to identify a home that fits their budget and lifestyle

Support Network
The prospective tenant has some natural relationships, including family and friends that can support them to live independently
Paid Supports
The prospective tenant has paid support in place or does not need paid support to live independently
Risk of Housing Insecurity*
The prospective tenant is in urgent need of housing due to their current living situation
Financial Plan
The prospective tenant has the means to contribute to at least the monthly housing charge, a down payment (if needed) and funding is secure
Location & Accessibility Needs*
The property would be a good fit for the prospective tenant's lifestyle and accessibility needs
Be Prepared to Move*
The prospective tenant is prepared to move within 3 months
